I have one for like $100 that we bought when we bought the dress. I tried it on for giggles yesterday and wasn't loving it. It's elbow length (I think I want longer) with pearls and rhinestones sewn throughout with satin pencil edging.
Those of you that had long veils (fingertip or...is cathedral after that?)...is cathedral only appropriate for a formal evening wedding? Does the longer veil get in the way? Is it heavier? Help!

I think you are going crazy - lol. I am sure yours is beautiful and looks great with your dress! You have good style....
I had fingertip and cathedral. (I think there is also chapel length.) I took the cathedral off after the first dance (it was attached via velcro). I wore the fingertip all night. The fingertip did not bother me at all really. The cathedral can get in the way (it was a windy day) but I quickly learned to deal with it.

chapel length is long - not as long as the cathedral... the fingertips are just under the shoulder line - that's what i'm having for the reception!

Mine is fingertip and it comes to my wiast, basically. Doesn't elbow come to middle of back?

if you are still rethinking (and i don't want to encourage you because i am sure your veil looks great!) there is something in between that you might like. i had a walking length (aka waltz length / ankle length). it came down to my calves. it was perfect! i loved it. it was nice a long and didn't cut the dress too much (i loved the back of my dress and didn't want to cut that in half) but it also wasn't cumbersome because it didn't hit the floor. Only if you are still second guessing, you might want to check that out too. Good luck!!!!

Fingertip came to my wrists about. Chapel is floor length just not as long cathedral. Elbow is the shortest of the one just mentioned.
Rach- what is your headpiece like - and how are you think about your hair (similar to mine?) and where on your head are you thinking about wearing your veil (under hair or like mine or something else?) I know what your dress looks like so I am trying to think about a look for you. I bet elbow would work perfectly.
