Reader help for church (long)

Reader help for church (long)

So FH and I are having a hard time picking someone to be our two 'readers' for the ceremony. He both agreed that he'd choose one from his side and I'd choose one from my side. I asked my aunt last week and she said, 'NO!' Reason being is, the church we're getting married in is very large and I guess she's scared to speak in front of people. Fine, I don't blame her for being nervous, but she had asked my mom to do it for her when she and my uncle got married 15 years ago!!! I can't believe she said no after knowing my mom helped them out!
So now I'm stuck in a situation where I don't know who else to ask. I don't want to ask my BM's because they already have their part in our wedding. I'm an only child, dislike FH sister and I didn't want to ask my other aunt.
What do i do?!!

What about a friend that's not in the BP? Or perhaps the organist/cantor can do it.

I would ask a friend that isn't in the BP or maybe a cousin or uncle, if you have any.

I know the BP members already have a role in the wedding, but they can still do this as well. My friend got married last year and had one of her bridesmaids do a reading as well. Definitely personal preference though.......

What about your godparents? That is what I am thinking of doing.

Unfortunately, my godmother passed away a few years back from cancer so that's out. My uncle who is my godfather is my aunt's hubby that already said no. I guess I could ask another friend who I didn't choose to be in the BP?

Thanks girls

I totally know how you feel.

I was planning on asking my god mother but not until next year because she had a hip replacement and may be needing another one. ANyway, I was over at her house a few weeks ago and she asked who was doing the readings and I mentioned that I would like her to if she felt up to it. Well she said she just couldn't do it because she didn't know how she would feel physically. I was upset because she is someone very close to me and my family and now I'm back to square one. I'm thinkin about asking my aunt instead.

If you can't get anyone to do it - what about doing a reading yourself - my dad did a reading when my parents got married.
