reading question

I really love the poem 'I carry your Heart' by ee cummings. would it be too cliche to have someone read it at our ceremony? Is this a very popular poem to be read at weddings?

I don't want people thinking I am trying to re-create the scene out of the movie 'in her shoes'

you cannot have secular readings read at a Nuptial Mass. they must be from scripture.
perhaps you can include it in your program? or sometime at your reception?

That's not entirely true. Yes, some priests won't allow it, but I think many would.

You can't replace the scripture readings with a secular reading, but secular readings can be added to the mass if the priest allows - and may will. Our priest is doing the hands ceremony - a secular reading. You could also ask your priest to read it (or have someone read it) during the homily time.

I think some priests would allow you to find a way to read it. You could also ask to do it after communion before the concluding rite.

It's worth asking if you can also have this read. I know our priest would likely allow it and find a way to add it in if it were not inappropriate.
