Ok. So this past week I bought my mini-lanterns. They just came in.. Yay! Anyways, what I didn't realize was that they come with real tea lights. I had been planning on buying LED tea lights but since these come with them I dont know what I should do.
Use the real ones or buy the LED ones? I didn't want to get real ones as I was afraid of fires in church! but the lanterns looks really well made. What do you think?
Keep what I have or buy the LED ones still?

I would use the LED ones just to make life easier - I doubt anything will catch on fire, but I know I'm so OCD that if the flames went out, I'd see them as I walked down and be so bummed!

Haha. Yeah I wouldn't want the lights to go out either!!! One dim light would drive me crazy!!! Multiples would drive me mad!!
I'm more afraid they'd go out with LED lights since everywhere I've looked they seem kinda flimsy. I don't think real tealights would go out since these lanterns are covered with glass which you can't see really well in the pictures.
I dont think a breeze passing by would make them go out.
I think I'm just really concerned with fire.
I don't trust flames unless i'm watching them and obviously i'm not around before or right after the ceremony. I am a bit neurotic like that and don't trust other people to be wary and cautious.
Then I've been reading real flames are brighter than the LED.
Brightness & convenience vs. possible safety. What to do....
Left lantern is real tealight, right is LED tealight apparently..

I used those exact same lanterns for my wedding. I threw out the tea lights and used mini LED lights. They were nice and bright and flickered like real lights. I got mine from Costco. I recommend that.

Yup. I checked costco. They don't sell them anymore. Well online and the costcos that I've visited.
Which section in costco did you see them in? Maybe they're seasonal and will come back again? I dunno.
I LOVE yours by the way. The LED that are tall, more like votives and dont have that pokey plastic flame sticking out. Those are so hard to find that are that bright.

I think tea lights would be more romatic but not practical. Would your church let you burn them? Also are you having children? I would go with led lights just because it takes the risk of something danergous happening? But they are pretty and will look amazing in your church!!!

I like the real thing. I just don't like the idea of faking it. The lanterns are sturdy enough that I wouldn't worry bout safety. As long as you hang them securely (or they are on a tabletop) then you will be fine

Will the church let you have real candles? They might make the decision for you!

Which do you like more? Maybe trial them each out and see which one looks better.

Yes. Last night I decided that was what I'm going to do. Bite the bullet and buy some LED off of amazon or michaels and trial them out.
I cut my finger trying to remove the stupid tea light from one of the lanterns though to measure and get read for an LED candle! the tea lights are glued in and I cut the top of my finger on probably the glass inside the lantern trying to wiggle and twist the stupid tea light out! I was like why is the top of my index finger covered in blood! I didn't even feel it!!!
I'm not amused....
At least I know for sure if I use the tea lights that came with it there is no chance the candles will somehow fall out if knocked on its side or something. those suckers are glued in well enough, well cold that is. I dont knwo how theyd act when the candles lit and the glue holding the candle to the lantern heats up.
I'll have to do experiments for different scenarios...
