So....not like I havent been thinking about it since the day we got engaged....but today it really it me, that my dad wont be with me on my wedding day...today would of been his 54 birthday and when I went to go visit him it made me realize that he wont be there, this month is also hard because he passed on the 24 of OCtober....I already have things that we will be doing....a donation in his name instead of favors and relaseing doves maybe at the church but just wanted to know if anyone else is out there in the same boat as me.....

I am sorry for your loss. I am in the same boat too. It is always harder during the time of year that he passed away. Its been 10 years for me.....

I can empathize!!!!!!! My Dad passed away suddenly, age 43, and couldn't walk me down the asile!!! It's hard!!!!!!! I miss him!!!!!!!!!! Thinking of you!!!!!!!!!!!! Mary MOB

I am sorry for your loss. I cant say i lost a parent but both my grandmothers and aunt are gone and i wish they were here with me. me and my fiance are getting married at the church were one of my grandmothers worked. the priest who is going to marry us actually knew my grandmother for years. it makes me happy to know there are little things to help me feel like she is there

my dad passed on his 43 bday oct 29 of a heart attack 7 years ago

Im sorry for all your loses girls. A good friend of mine, his father passed a year before his wedding and they did a rememberence and had a picture of him on the table the whole night.
I feel sooooo bad for you girls, you can borrow my dad if you want

i know where you're at. my mom died when i was 17. she passed on feb 7, her bday is feb 23, and we're getting married on feb 17. part of the reason i chose feb for the wedding is to try to make feb a more bearable time of year for me. i was very close to my mom, and throughout this whole wedding planning process i feel her loss so much more - i have no MOB dress to help her shop for, no motherly advice about planning the wedding or about marriage. it's hard, but we make it through somehow.

Unfortunately, you are not alone. My father passed away 1 year ago from a sudden heart attack. I try not to think about it too much, the fact that he won't be there. But I know it will be hard, it will be for the rest of our lives. I'm trying to think of different things to do in his memory, but not too much b/c I don't want to be upset all day. There are a few threads on here that talk about the different things you can do and obviously you have your own ideas. Just know you are not alone!
