REALLY?!?!?!

FH's cousin who lives in Ohio got engaged last week and they booked their wedding 6 weeks before mine Now no one is gonna come to NY for our wedding if the have to go to Ohio for another wedding 6 weeks before

Yeah, after we set the date, I emailed FH's entire family (b/c they're all out of town). They all seemed so excited about coming. I guess my only hope now is to pray that they like us more than his cousin and choose to come to NY for the weekend instead of Ohio. And plus, to make matters worse, I think they booked the same day as my best friend's wedding. Now we'll have to decide which wedding we're going to

Don't stress over it too much. I'm sure FH's family will come. Did you send out STD's? At the end of the day- family is family...
Look at it this way-FH cousin's wedding would increase the likelihood that they come to your wedding. If they go to the Ohio wedding, then it could make them feel bad if they not go to your wedding since they went to the Ohio wedding. Hope that made sense.

It's actually funny you mention this- my mom called me earlier today to tell me that my cousin (male) is getting married next year on 9/4! I'm getting married on 10/9.

Thank you ladies - this actually made me feel a little better.

We're gonna send our STDs around the 1 year mark so people will be VERY informed of our wedding date. And I think you're right - they'll feel bad going to one wedding and not the other. I just feel bad for FHs grandmother more than anything. She lives in KY and so she'll have to travel from KY to OH and back and then from KY to NY and back all within 2 months. Oh well.

Dont worry. People will come to your wedding. Its almost 2 months apart. Plus no OH wedding will compete w a LI wedding. Theyll go there and then to yours and there will be no comparison.

Ans as for the 2 weddings you go to your best friend's wedding of course!

I can't stand when people do this!! It's so ridiculous. Someone did something similar to us. People are just selfish that's all I can say. If people care about you enough they will be there!

ugh thats annoying! I think that may be just enough time though for people to be able to go to both, and you both gave people plenty of notice as well to be able to save for both trips!
