Ok, this is a really sick question - sorry for any bad imagery it brings up....but, I have had to reschedule my annual gyno checkup twice now because of work.....my appt is this Thursday, but I am due any second to get my period - I will probably have it when I go to my appt....should I keep the appt? I hate to reschedule again, but I don't want to freak the doc out!

Re: Really gross question
I have never gone when it's that time but my doc always says it's no problem...messy yes, uncomfortable yes, but that's what he says.
I would never do it though.

I highly doubt that your gyno will be grossed out.
ETS: I mean *freak* the doc out...Anyway...Highly doubt that's possible!

You will get a more accurate pap without your period..

ABSOLUTELY!! This thought helps me all the time!!
Note: You will however not be able to get a pap-smear during menstruation. Not because the doctor will be grossed out, but because I don't think the reading will be accurate.

The one time this happened, they told me to reschedule, because the pap is not accurate enough.

Definitely. And an accurate pap is the point. It's a pain, but better to get an accurate test. Reschedule. My doc always says not to do a pap with my period.

If it's an annual, I'd reschedule. You want the pap to be accurate.

I went when I had my period. But they can't test you for anything, so if you need any kinds of test you have to reschedule. Its its just a checkup you can go. I

Sorry to hijack, but I used to work for GreenPoint Bank and that was one of their branches. It's a beautiful place (we had many Christmas parties there) Their other 'famous' branch is now Cipriani's on 42nd across from Grand Central

aww, thanks! makes me feel good - I am having both ceremony and reception there, and am worried about guests getting bored because the whole night will be at one venue, but maybe I'm just being paranoid ...

Don't be paranoid, everything is going to be great! I think it's great to have everything in one place, especially since you're in the city, IMO it's also very considerate to your guests, since they aren't traveling between 2 places and worrying about parking, etc.
