Ok, so we've had a ton of problems choosing a band.
A few weeks ago we found a band through google searches and loved their demo. We contacted the manager, got a contract and signed it. After speaking with her a few times, it turns out we weren't getting what we thought we were getting. All of her communication with us was 'beating around the bush' and touting the band...saying how amazing they were but i did a bunch of searches on this website and other wedding websites, and the band wasn't mentioned.. no one had heard of them.
We finally got out of the contract and have been looking around at other more popular options... I've contacted Franklin Wayne, Kim Sozzi, Hank Lane, Faze 4, Skyline, etc. All reputable and well-known companies with tons of great reviews.
From Franklin Wayne, Heart & Soul and Dreamkast were booked, and Timepiece is an 11 piece band and we're looking for something a bit smaller. They said Entourage was available but i haven't heard much about them.
Kim Sozzi was amazing but their quote for an 8-piece band was ridiculous in comparison to many of the others.
I liked Sound Image and Original Faze 4 Band from Faze 4, but the Original was booked for our date, and FH wasn't amazed by the female vocalist (although i thought they were fabulous)
From Skyline, we plan to see Code Bleu on Monday at the showcase.
We both liked L'evation from Hank Lane and are considering booking them, however the last mentions of them on this website were from 2010 and when i posted about them no one responded.
I'm really just hoping to get some more feedback on the ones I mentioned to make sure i'm making a good decision. The band is such an important element and we already had a bad experience.. i don't want to make a mistake the second time around.
PLEASE HELP!!! Any feedback would be great.

Not sure if I am going to complicate things further for you but check out Times Square Orchestra...they are UNREAL and are very reasonably priced. I am using them as a fellow Woodlands bride too! :)

I don't have any input on the other bands because I knew before I got married that I needed Creations at my wedding. I never asked for a price, I gave Kim my budget and she worked with me. Maybe try again with other quotes to compare...they really are great! I am also getting married 'out of season' so most vendors were willing to budge a little on pricing due to time of year. Yeah, when i contacted her she asked what my budget was, I said 8-10k and she came back and said it was 12k...didn't mention there was flexibility so I don't know if they changed their prices for 2013 or what.

Got ya, sorry :( I booked back in 2010 so not sure what they are charging these days.

I was originally booked with Vision, now known as Entourage. FH and I loved them so much, but one of the lead singers in the band was replaced (hence the name change), so the original band we booked with wouldn't be practicing together any further. We liked Vision a little more than Entourage, but Entourage is still very, very good.
We got out of our contract and booked Dreamkast instead. Ultimately, the decision came down to the showcases. We liked the song choices of Dreamkast more than Entourage. We felt they were more 'us.'
I would recommend going to a showcase to see Entourage. Rasheeda's talent is phenomenal.

We are torn between the original faze 4 band, sound image and play by play- all from Faze 4. The price of the original is so much higher than the others. Any advice??

Check out Paris...If I was getting a band I would have gone with them. THey are amazing!!!!! A few of my friends had them and the dance floor was packed all night. I recommended it to a friend of a friend and she just emailed me a few weeks ago after her wedding and said her guests are still talking about how amazing her band was. Def. check them out!!!!

I would check with Hank Lane. You can pick from all different types of band and sizes. They are great.

Def this! I saw them at a showcase and they were PHENOMENAL! Made me want to have a backyard wedding just so I could afford to have them play!!

I highly recommend the Times Square Orchestra. Code Bleu is also an amazing band and they did a great job at my June 23 wedding the dance floor was packed all night. Times Square was my first choice but unavailable.

I have the same wedding date as you do, and when I called skyline code bleu already had a contract for my night. You might want to check with them again before you go to their showcase. You can try their skyline band (we booked Rhapsody with them for our night).

The Projekt! Definitely in your price range. They played at my friends wedding and they KILLED it. Everyone was dancing all night.
