REALLY Sad..need some hugs and inspiration

We are SO out of money, I could cry. I know it's only temporary since the holidays blew our budget (yes, even limiting it to $20 a gift) and DH had to fly back to NY for some legal matters and that ticket was $350.

But it's still so depressing to think that we might not be able to pay for this or that....I don't even think we're getting a tree or gifts for each other now....

I try SO hard to save money...we don't eat out, we don't buy things for ourselves. I just don't know what else to do

Hang in there! Things WILL get better! My parents used to say that some of their happiest times were their poorest times. You guys are just starting out, and the money part will get better as time goes on.

OMG..we are so feeling exactly the same!! (and we're on the same budget for xmas - how ironic and sad is that!!) Whats worse?? my unemployment just ran out and I still haven't been able to find a job. I have another interview on monday so cross your fingers for me.

All I can tell you is this.... stay positive, try not to get depressed. Always remember what's important - family, your health, etc.
And remember another very important thing:

'This too shall pass'

we feel the same way - but its nice to know that we have each other just as you and your dh have each other....and that new little baby on the way. you have much richer things than just money and you have more than some do. perhaps making each other gifts - even just writing heartfelt lettters will be better than buying the latest techno-gadgety things, and something you can treasure for eyars to come. i know it sucks, we would love to go out to dinner more, etc....but in the larger scheme, look how much you have accomplished since getting married! you are doing great!

We have been there!
Our first christmas with Maiah was the worse, financially that is. I had just stopped working and Jonn had a new job. We had no money for gifts. I ended up making decopodge photo boxes for our immediate family and put pics of the baby in them. I got Jonn a $5 frame and some socks. And I think all we got Maiah was a rattle. It broke my heart that I couldn't spend like I always had.

Each year has gotten a little better. We still struggle. If it wasn't for our wedding money we'd probably have a pretty skimpy Christmas this year.

If anything, our relationship has grown stronger. I've learned to be very creative and resourceful...and I always tell myself that things could be a lot worse. I'm grateful for everything I have....a warm place to live, a beautiful family, food on the table.

I know it can be especially tough this time of year when everywhere you look the signs are telling you to spend, spend, spend. But when January rolls around and the credit card bills start coming in, you'll be glad you didn't spend.

Hang in there. As you know recently I myself have been going through some rough times with my health, which really has put in a slight depression. only in the last 2 weeks has things seem to have been looking up.

I see you as a good friend to talk to and if you ever need to talk, please just give me a ring or fm me anytime.

As for money, I understand where you are coming from. Maybe you can decorate around the apartment with things you already own? This way it can be festive, but you won't spend money.
Maybe even take sone of the Christmas cards you get and decorate with them also.

so sorry to hear, at times we have gotten into major ruts living paycheck to check and this holiday season has killed us, we have 31 people to buy for it take the joys out of the holidays. Somehow though we stress every year about this and it all seems to work out in the end. it will get better

Aww sweetie, I don't know what to say. I know it seems hopeless right now, but things really WILL get better.

Just wanted to give you lots of these anyhow

we are feeling it too. we got married in february and bought a house in the summer. things are really tough right now, and like you, we spend nothing on ourselves...just food!

although we get scared and stressed sometimes, we realize that we are here for a reason and that we will work it all out. even if telling yourself that is jjust to make yourself feel better...do it!

this holiday is not going to be anything like previous years, but we are so happy that we have each other and a place to live. all the struggling does make you stronger, and as said, it will make us all appreciate things even more in the future.
