i think all the hype around gov patershitt is what made me think of this..... if you had to be one, would you rather be blind or deaf?
i really can't decide in 1 case, i'd rather be deaf because you could still see your family members, the world around you, etc. but in the other case, i'd rather be blind because you could still hear and communicate with EVERYONE, not just the people who know sign language, etc.

Re: really strange question
I once asked this question to a guy I was dating. He said deaf because he loved to read. I said blind because I love music so much.

Re: really strange question
Definitely deaf...I love to read and take pictures, both of which would be lost to me if I were blind.

Re: really strange question
I ALWAYS THOUGHT ABOUT THIS... I always said deaf becasue there's sign language and captioning on television and stuff like that. I think it would be a lot harder to be blind. I dont know if I could stand not being able to see all the beautiful things in this world

Deaf. I can't live without music either but I think I'd 'hear' music in my head like I do all the time anyway. (not voices, just music!)

Re: really strange question
This is a really hard question for me to answer, DH is deaf and sometimes it gets frustrating to explain things to him because he doesn't understand why I like simple things that we take for granted like music and he doesn't understand why I like going to concerts.
Then I have a cousin who is albino and is blind, so we have to read menu's to her when we go out to dinner and when we go to movies have to read subtitles if they happen to throw some up during a movie.
So having both of them in my life, I don't think I could pick one, I see the struggles that they both deal with

Re: really strange question
I don't think someone can really choose between one or another--just be thankful that you are able-bodied!
