BOTH.........he can put the money in the account..........and I can write the check
I'm only half serious tho - we both are pretty good at handling finances so I hope it stays that way

Me. Absolutely....FH is an ebay junkie.....hes always buying off of there...we had a huge fight after getting engaged bc of it....he wasnt giving me any money!!

I also overhear him get mad at himself for overdrawing his checking account and not keeping track....

hes not allowed to hold a checkbook...MAYBE ill let him have a debit card

Fh takes care of all of 'our' bills and his bills and i take care of my personal ones.

I think it'll work out nicely if we keep it like this. FH balances his checkbook all week long... i've never balanced a checkbook in my life.

We are working on sorting this all out now ... we have a joint account, and then we still have our separate accounts which we might end up just getting rid of because its complicated to figure out how much goes in what account

We have most of our bills on auto-pay, so they just get deducted from the account when they're due. DH handles sending the rent check to our absentee landlord each month, he's always handled that (we've been living together for 5 years now).

I auto-pay!

We both handle our respective bills seperately now. We have opened a joint checking already for wedding purposes and plan to keep it after we are married. I guess you can say all our money will go in one pot! IMO both people should share the responsibility of knowing what amount of money is coming in and what amount is going out and where its going to!

Me....FH is not great with money and paying things on time...it drives me nuts to have to pay late fees!

FH will! We're both good at it, he's just meticulous about writing eveything down to the last penny, and i'm not like that at all, so he wants to do it. i say let him have fun!

Touchy subject with us....i have been paying my own bills now for about 7 years now and it would be extremely hard to give that up. FH also wants to be in charge of it. I guess my main concern is I never want to be that woman that doesn't know what's going on with her finances. So I guess we will split it as we do now, and both keep tabs as to whats going on....I think the money part will be the biggest adjustment for me when we are married.

We have been living together for 2 years this month so we already have this in place.

All the bills are set up so we can both pay them. I am usually the one to do it on line but, we both contribute to the acount that they get paid out of.
