Really wish I had the money to open a bridal store in the Hamptons Area

I am from Sag Harbor....

The closest place for us to go for a dress is Patchogue.....

I just wish I had the money to start up a bridal store in the Hamptons Area.

If anyone knows someone looking to get into this biz, I think having a store in the Hamptons (Sag Harbor, Bridgehampton, Southampton, Easthampton) would benefit that whole Eastern End of Long Island!!!!

I was so frustrated hiking up to Patchgoue for fittings, etc...and I know a lot of my friends who are getting married and who have gotten married have had the same issues...

ANd, Where I got my dress, Bridal Suite of patchogue, there was always problems and unhappy people!

I agree!! I remember back in the day there was one in RHead but that was when I was younger...
I went to Rocky Point for mine.
I totally agree with you though!!!!
We could use one out here!!

I second that! They are so rude and give attitude when you ask why your dress isnt in yet, after its been on order for over 8 months!

Why not go into business with a few LIW girls? We know best!

If I had the money, I would invest in that. With LI the wedding capitol of the world, and The Hamptons being the swankiest, most affluent area to get married, a store like that would not fail!

I AGREE.....only problem east of riverhead you are paying colossal rents so unless its a 'name' salon with lots of cash to back it up....it could be really hard to keep afloat...unless someone could operate from their house, but then you would have to have room for stock, fittings etc...
It is very frustrating to get anything out here and I am constantly trekking up the island or into the city to get anything....I love the hamptons but sometimes its hard for us mere mortals to survive out here....off topic but unless you want to spend $200 you cannot get a decent pair of shoes this side of riverhead...vent....sorry you have opened the can of worms now.....

I am seriously considering opening up a bridal shop in Long Island. I just don't know where to get the start up funds.

It's funny. If you look up HamptonWeddings.com, the first bridal salon they list is Kleinfelds in Brooklyn. That's nuts.

I think they need a place like RK Bridal out there.

Dont quote me on this, but a friend told me once that for a woman the state will give you money if you want to start up a business since we are considered a 'minority' Once again this is NOT a fact just something I heard. I dont know how much truth is it but thought it might be helpful

This is true, I knew someone once who used this money. Unfortunately, I don't really have contact with her anymore.

I would LOVE to get involved with this, but my bank account says different. HA!!!

Well, FH has a chunk of savings we were going to use for a house in Florida. But I think a prosperous business is bette for the long run, don't you? LOL!

There are some properties available in the East Hamptons. I should call to find out how much they are.

I would love to star it up, I KNOW it would be veryu very successful!! But to try to rent a place east of Riverhead IS insane!

Plus, the Town of Southampton and East Hampton are SO SNOOTY when it comes to opening businesses...

There used to be one in Wainscott, but they closed up, I am not sure why...but it was a few years ago.
