Reasonable priced florist recommendations?

I'm headed to NY this weekend to visit florists. Can anyone recommend some places I must check out? So far, I'm going to Burton's, Flowers by Rosemarie and Flower Michele. I don't want to spend a lot on flowers ($1000-1500), but I do want them to be simple and elegant. Hand-tied bouquets and candles & tulips for centerpieces. Thanks!

Town Florist in Massapequa Park - I was given a qoute of $1400 for all roses.. 20 1/2 dozen centerpieces with blue delphinium & babies breath, 1 1/2 dozen roses bride bouquet, 4 1 dozen roses bridesmaid bouquets, 18 2 rose boutiners and 4 coursages.... Good deal I thought! Massapequa Florist in Massapequa- Joe there is great, I deal with him frequently through my job, so I am using him, BUT he does VERY beatiful work!!!! I did choose him from the 3 different florists I deal with on a regular basis because he does the nicest work!! Can''t really say about price because I am getting a deal.

Try Pedestals on Jericho Tpke, Mineola. I was quoted $1300 for the following: 10 bubble bowl centerpieces with 1 dz roses each, bridal bouquet, MOH and 2 bridesmaid bouquets, boutonneires(sp??) for FOB, 2 grandfathers, best man, up to 5 groomsmen, corsages for 2 grandmothers, and 2 moms. They are even giving me a little vase for the BR!!!

I used Flowers by Burton (on a recommendation), and they were amazing. They were reasonably priced, and once you agree on a price, you can use ANY flowers you want in your arrangements for the same price. They were on time, and the flowers were stunning. They are on Rte. 110.

We used James Cress Florists and they were wonderful!

They will easily work within your given price range. We gave them a range of what we were looking to spend and they went beyond our expectations. They are in Smithtown at 115 East Main Street and their # is 631-724-0333. Good Luck!

They are located in Bayport between Sayville and Oakdale. Gizbert is wonderful to work with. I told him what kind of flowers and theme I was going for and 10 minutes later he came out with the most amazing sample I had ever scene.

I made a couple more appointments based on your recommendations. I was thrilled to hear James Cress will work within my budget. I love their work (i've used them many times for random arrangements) but I feared they'd be too expensive for the wedding.

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. I'd be happy to go over my contract and let you know what we got. We met with the owner and he was so patient (what we knew about flowers you could fit in a shotglass) and put together a magnificent sample bouquet right before our eyes. He didn't try & sell us what we didn't want or need and never once patronized our lack of knowledge about floral arrangements. My best advice is get EVERYTHING in writing - type of flowers, color of ribbon, bouquet style, etc. My friend used Spitz & Peck and was horrified on her wedding day. Good luck with your plans.

I am getting ready to see atravel agent this weekend to book my June honeymoon to Hawaii...
