What's a RH?

Re: reasonable RH

RH = reception hall.

ask your friend how much she wants to spend per person, that way we can help her out better. what may be expensive to someone is not that expensive to somebody else. tell her to plan a total budget. the RH usually is 50% of the wedding budget if that helps.

Also the time of year can make a difference.

The cheapest per head I've seen is East Wind. You can get them down to less than $60 per head if you tell them you're considering someplace else.

i think she was alright with 70 pp.

Re: reasonable RH

that's alright, i know i'm already losing my mind and my wedding isn't for another year. i'm spending $70pp for a daytime wedding at jericho terrace. i've been quote $55pp for westbury manor for a winter wedding. so, there are definitely some options.

Larkfield Manor is Northport is really nice and reasonable. They just redid the whole place.

I'm also in the process of looking for reasonably priced RHs. I'm not sure what area your friend is looking into, but West Sayville Country Club and Sunset Harbour in Patchogue are both places I plan to check out. Also, someone mentioned East Wind which may be good for your friend if she's having out of town guests - they have the hotel right there. I think the Meadow Club is also pretty reasonably priced. Oh, and Tall Grass and Smithtown Landing. HTH!

Unfortunately there's no definite any time of the year, in the winter it can snow and in the summer there can be a hurricane, tell her she shouldn't worry about the 'what if' scenario. Even in April it was flurrying!!!!

From what I saw anytime from late Oct to the beginning of April was cheaper. That's one of the reasons we chose March.

I originally had Nov in mind for my wedding, we started pricing it out first , however we decided on March instead since the prices were still reasonable.

I second Sunset Harbour...

Re: reasonable RH

Crest Hollow Country Club quoted us 55$ per person for a January wedding. It really was an awesome deal, but we wanted it near our real anniversary so we couldn't go for it. She should think about Sunday afternoon weddings or Friday nights are cheaper. And the time of the year definitely plays a part.

We are having our wedding at West Sayville Country Club. It is really nice and beautiful.
The people who work there are excellent.

This is doable on a Friday or Sunday at Douglaston Manor -- and you get a lot for your money there!

You could possibly get the Metropolitan down to $70pp on a Friday or Sunday in the off season.

This is assuming, of course, the $70 pp does NOT include gratuity + tax.
