Reccomend Lounge/ Bar in NYC ??

ok lets see...theres sushi samba on park ave (chicken teriyaki is amazing there), theres a place called dip which serves chocolate or cheese fondue (best martinis), one restaurant in the meatpacking district, buddah bar, and theres a rooftop place in the gansenvoort hotel. Have fun!

buddah bar is REAL nice but go there only for drinks. I thought the place was WAAAAY over rated. Plus dh and i left starving, we ordered entree's that were $40 , i think dh's was more and seriously was barely the size of my palm. We had ordered app's but they were soooo small too, i wish we would have known before dinner how tiny the entree's were bc we would've ordered ALOT more app's lol. I told DH to just order more app's after dinner but he was so disappointed he didnt care to. And not like the entree was that great either, it was ok.

Buddakhan is way better and the food is amazing.

But are you looking for restaurants or just somewhere to go for drinks and dancing?

what about 230 5th. ALso do you want more of a club type place or bar atmosphere

OMG Denise your story about Budda Bar reminds me of that commercial where the couple gets these tiny little entrees at some very expensive looking restaurant and they leave and go to the supermarket to cook at home.

YES seriously that was exactly like us, i was excited to go bc we heard so much about it and saw the pics online and looked amazing. I think we did get food after hahaha, we seriously were like OMG im still starving. And if the food was great we would've just ordered more stuff. But we both felt it was just eh ok so we were like why bother ordering more. I hate when that happens. I ordered sea bass which was tiny and said it came with side dishes. ALl it had was 1 piece of bok choy and a real small one

I like TAO for food and drinks!

230 Fifth ave is fun also. It's a rooftop lounge.

We also like Vento in the Meatpacking district. At least we didn't leave there hungry. LOL

For drinks and dancing, my girlz and I like Opal on 52nd and 2nd.

i was so mad lol, i felt like we should've just gone there for drinks. They have a nice section to hang out and have drinks.

Im a girl who loves my food, and i like nice big wholesome meals Dh gets mad bc i am never crazy about eating sushi. I dont hate it, but its not a meal that i go MMMMMM so good about. I'd rather have a huge bowl of pasta or some fried chicken with mash potatoes and corn bread and then i wonder how i gain weight

yea buddah bar is gorgeous inside but their food is so overpriced. i go there with the girls for drinks.. then walk over to kiss and fly. like a block or 2 away (im always buzzed when i leave buddah bar so i dont know if its a block or 2 away)..

if ur going for dinner..go to the cottage on 77th and amsterdam(going there tonite)..its chinese/thai food and they give u free unlimited wine... and theres a bunch of bars a block away.

I was reading about Slate.

They have pool tables, they offer private instruction, and they have a bunch of ping pong tables too. It sounds bad but doesn't look cheesy. I can't recommend it since I've never been there, but it sounds like an interesting place to have a thing.
