Receiving Line???

Receiving Line???

Is it rude not to have a receiving line after the church? We don't have much time to take pictures before the cocktail hour starts and if we skip the receiving line we can save 1/2-45 minutes......

as long as you at some point greet all the guests ( maybe visit all the tables during the reception) i think it is fine

I don't think it's necessary to have one.

We plan on going around to the tables at the reception and greeting everyone. We can also greet the people that may come to the church but not to the reception.

i think one should always balance 'rude' with 'impractical'...

we will have a receiving line because we anticipate our guest list to be ~100. to speed up the process we may just limit it to me, FH, and both sets of parents.

i think it is very important to individually thank each guest at SOME point during the event. it does not have to be at the church, or in the form of a line, but because it's logistically feasible, we are going to do it that way...

We're not having one... our reception starts 1/2 hour after the mass and it's 20 minutes away. We will just walk around during the reception.
