We're arranging ours for after the ceremony at the Church, so we can say thank you to those who come to the Church, which will include friends and co-workers who wont be invited to the reception that is family only. Plus, we're a no-child reception, and my baby cousins will be at the ceremony for the family photos, so this was the most logical place to have it.

Re: receiving line???
I don't know... I suppose I would do this after the ceremony, as people were walking over to the CH.

Re: receiving line???
I have never seen a receiving line done anywhere but the church or end of a ceremony. I am doing it right after we walk out of the church.

Re: receiving line???
I am having my ceremony at the hall and being that we are not taking pictures before the ceremony - we are going to have to go to take pictures right away during the cocktail hour which is about 1 1/2 hours. We will come back to the cocktail hour with about 15-20 minutes to spare and greet everyone then. I do not want to be taking pictures during the reception.

Re: receiving line???
I am doing it as people exit the church. To keep things moving, the BP will not be a part of the line up.

I don't think I'm going to do one. I'm getting married at my hall and will meet and greet everyone at CH

Re: receiving line???
That is my plan, well including the pictures. I have asked a few people already if that is okay and they said people would understand that you have to get your pictures taken so.... that is what I will do.

Re: receiving line???
We're having our ceremony at the hall and taking pics during the CH. So we'll just have to mingle around to every table during the reception, no receiving line for us.

Re: receiving line???
in my experience, the receiving line is done at the end of the ceremony (church) and its the brides parents, bride and groom and the grooms parents.

Re: receiving line???
We didn't do a receiving line - we went to cocktail hour for about 30 minutes and greeted as many guests as we could and then during our reception tried to do a second round of hellos.

This is what we plan on doing - we don't have enough time after the ceremony to have a receiving line.
