We didn't do a receiving line - we went to cocktail hour for about 30 minutes and greeted as many guests as we could and then during our reception tried to do a second round of hellos.

We did something similar.

We aren't doing one....I find them kinda boring, especially if there are a lot of guests.

We are going to greet guests during the last few minutes of the cocktail hour and during the salad course.

usually i've seen it done at the end of the ceremony, but i'm probably skipping it due to time constraints.

Nope. We are hiding behind our religion. Right after the ceremony, Jewish brides and grooms have a few moments of seclusion after they take their vows to absorb the seriousness and meaning of the ceremony so there is no place for a receiving line. It is then that they break bread together for the first time ALONE. Though in OLD OLD OLD times, it was when the couple consummated the marriage and a woman had to prove her virginity. Oh well, it seems I have nothing to prove.

WE're not doing one. We'll go around from table to table during the reception.
