Receiving line??

Re: Receiving line??

i didnt have a full mass. I did do the receiving line and let me say that it goes sooooooo quickly so dont even worry...It seriously took under 15 minutes. Remember not everybody goes to the ceremony so not all your guests will be at that. Looking back i liked the receiving line, it was great everybody coming up to us so happy for us. People just come up and quickly say congrats, it was beautiful and just keep it short. They also dont want to hold up a line so they go quickly. It really took no time at all

Thanks Denise. This makes me feel better.
I was so worried it would take forever.
I feel like my mom would like us to do it. So I think I will!!

yeah i was worried about this too beforehand...It went by so quick, i honestly couldnt believe it. We also just had me, dh and our parents. We stood in the hallway at the church to do it. After ceremony we go out first and we were told to go to the side and wait. So now a line forms for people to walk out of the church, people see theres a line so they dont want to hold it up like i said. Everybody just came up and quickly said hello, and a little something. It was good too bc there were some people who only came to my ceremony and not the reception, not many but some. We had one person come to the ceremony but couldnt come to reception bc it was her daughters birthday party that night, then cant forget meg from LIW who come to my ceremony, then the grandparents of our RB came just to see him and a few neighbors. So it was good to say thank you to them for at least coming to that since we wouldnt have had a chance to say thank you later.

Everybody was so excited coming up to us and it was like OH WOW we are really married. It takes about 10 mins of your time if that

That sounds really nice. Good point also about people coming just to the cermony - I know I will have a few like that. I am gonna do it but the way you did and some of the other girls on here - me, FH (DH then .. LOL) and our parents!!

we got married at our hall so we just went to all the tables and made sure to takl to everyone.

IMHO, as a guest at a large wedding, I dread a recieving line. If its a small wedding, under 100 people, i dont care, but otherwise I feel like they take forever- at elast at the weddings I ahev been to that have them.

Mrs Gina.... that is exactly what I am worried about. We should have about 200 people at the wedding so maybe 85 people or so at the church, I fee like this could take forever!

my cousin just got married this weekend...the church was packed (they had about 280 at the wedding...and i would say there were more than 100 ppl at the church cuz it was all oot and at this resort thing).

the receiving line was FAST (i made sure to time it cuz i was interested in knowing for my own wedding). they were done in like 15 min and the church was beyond packed). i was really shocked! it was them and both sets of parents. people just said congrats and gave a hug/kiss as they were walking out.

im going to a wedding this sunday so ill have one more to compare to and write about
