Re: Receiving line??
We didn't have one because there wasn't a lot of time in between. We had our deacon announce we weren't going to have one.

Re: Receiving line??
We had a full mass too.... We had a * mini * receiving line... Just DH & I. I had our DOC make sure to get everyone out in front of the church pretty quickly b/c we needed all the time in between ceremony & reception for pics. It went really fast. I think if you have one- just limit the # of people.....

I think this a good idea! I am afraid to waste too much time b/c we need time for pics!

Re: Receiving line??
I'm just doing a ceremony, and I'm having a receiving line, but not for the whole bridal party, just FH & I and our parents.

Good question - we are gettign married at the RH - I do not think we are having a receiving line - we'll pop around to see everyone at the cocktail hour and reception.

Re: Receiving line??
I always thought a receiving line always only included bride, groom and parents... other people are sometimes part of it? like bridal party??
learn something new everyday!

Re: Receiving line??
I don't think we'll have time, our ceremony is at the hall and the cockkkkk-tail hour is right after the ceremony. I think they are nice though. I want one! Ha ha!

Re: Receiving line??
we are doing just a ceremony, not a full mass, and we have lots of time between the ceremony and reception but we dont have a lot of time to be at the church and i want to do formal picts there, so idk about the receiving line, if we do it will be small just FH and i cuz both out parents are divorced and then the line will be tooo long.
sorry i dont think i helped

Re: Receiving line??
we got married at our hall so we just went to all the tables and made sure to takl to everyone.
IMHO, as a guest at a large wedding, I dread a recieving line. If its a small wedding, under 100 people, i dont care, but otherwise I feel like they take forever- at least at the weddings I have been to that have them.

Mrs Gina.... that is exactly what I am worried about. We should have about 200 people at the wedding so maybe 85 people or so at the church, I fee like this could take forever!
