Receiving Line question

Receiving Line question

I just saw a video of a friend who got married at my church and since the church is soooooooo small she said the receiving line took forever and didn't really work too well. No one had any room b/c the hall of the church is so narrow and she was on line for like 40 minutes. Plus people kept hanging out inside and held up the line. The Pastor had to ask people to step outside b/c of the crowding.

My question is would it be bad of me to not have one? Anyone going to the church I will see at the reception - of course I'm sure there will be a few people I miss and I'll feel bad that I didn't see them but I have an hour of daylight in November that I'd like to take advantage of.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks girls.

Re: Receiving Line question

you know, not to be a brat, but like, people are gonna be able to find you pretty **** easily in a big white dress. why do you need to stand in a line for them to see you LOL!!!! my mom would be so mad if she could hear this hahaha

Re: Receiving Line question

LOL - I won't tell her

I am totally going to skip it. I would rather wait and be able to spend more time with everyone at FF - the church I'd literally be pushing them aside just to keep the line going.

Also, Neil is jewish........he is already complaining about the church thing and I'm sure his family wants to get out asap. They may burn LOL

Re: Receiving Line question

if you decide you want to do the line, i can stand there with those orange sticks like the runway airport guys and keep the crowd in check

Now that is a vision LOL. Thanks for the offer - I'm sure the Pastor will love that LOL

Ohhhhh - maybe you can wear the orange reflective vest - it'll match the dresses and flowers LOL

Ok - definitely have to go to bed - I'm getting giddy.

Oh btw - my brother broke up with the woman.....he wants to know if you want one last fling. He thinks he can change your mind :)

See, now this is where a bride and groom look alike would be totally appropriate! Just a thought

we're having one but not with the bridal party. we're keeping it short and having FH, myself and our parents only.
