Definitely look into Woodbury Country Club - their rooms are very big, and the food is unvelievable. Unfortunately they are moving in either 2009 or 2010, so I'd give them a call before your friend treks out there....

Flowerfield is also amazing - though I have no idea what the capacity of their room is.

I second that, i come from an italian family and i feel like every event is held at Russo's, we all love it! Thats part of the reason why i did not choose that for my reception location only because i've been there sooooo many times, but the food and service is excellent..

im pretty sure giorgios only holds 300!!!

If she is very Italian then definitely look into Villa Lombardis and Russo's on the Bay....it defines Italian and AWESOME food!!!

Surf Club in New Rochelle. My friend got married there last year and both of them come from huge italian families. The food was excellent. She had about 350 people at the wedding.

That's how I felt! Everything we have is there, so I wouldn't even look at it for the wedding.

Marina del Rey can hold I think 300...they open two rooms together. My family is SUPER Italian and the food is AMAZING and plentyful.

Re: recepion sites... need help

Villa Lombardi's
Russo can definately accommodate the size
I believe Lenords of Great Neck can too
Surf Club of New Rochelle is beautiful and big enough

I had the same problem when looking for a hall. If you are a little more specific with what area that might help too.

I think Gargulio's can accomodate that many people.

They should look into El Caribe in Brooklyn...its beautiful and very similar to Russos...so if they are used to Russos it would be a nice change of scenery

Yes was just going to suggest Russo's on the Bay- I had my ceremony and reception there and you don't have to be Italian to appreciate the venue- I have some pics in my review and also my albums.

If she's looking for 2010 she should go there soon to start looking. I think their largest room holds about 350-400 people and is amazing.

The Huntionton Hilton can have 1000 people in their Grand Ballroom for a wedding reception. And their catering food is yummy.

My FH and I both come from Big Italian families. We are having our wedding at the Inn @ New Hyde Park. We are having over 300 people however the room can hold up to 400. The food there is really good and the place is beautiful. We also chose this place because no one has been there since they renovated it, so it will be a new experiance for everyone! Hoped that helped!
