Reception Bill- How does it all add up?

Let's say it is 10,500

Gratutity= 20%
Tax= 8.625?

How does it all add up?

Is the gratuity taxed or put on the end??

Or is the gratuity on the base price before tax???

Thanks!

gratuity should be PRE-tax, i believe.... that's how my hall did it.

10, 500 * 20% = 2100
10,500 * 8.625% = 905.63

10,500+2100+905.63 = 13,505.63

that's how mine does it... i think, i hope

eta: gratuity shouldn't be taxed...

grat shouldn't be taxed but most FH's call it a service fee and that is taxed.

I was told that gratuity is not taxed, so i'm charged the
per person price x tax x 20% gratuity
