Reception card wording . . . HELP ! I might have to reorder !!
When I ordered my invitations, I forgot to plan the wording for the reception card, so I had to do it while I was there. Not such a big deal cause FMIL and FSIL were with me. We thought they were okay, but now that they are here and I look at them I am wondering if I should re-order
Here's what they say . . . .
Please join us for the reception at seven in the evening Swan Club Glenwood Landing, New York
Here's my dillema
I put reception at 7pm, my COCKTAIL hour is actually 7pm. I am concerned that people might think that the reception is at 7 but cocktail is at 6 and I don't want people to show up early.
If I re-order them it's another $50-60 for them. Should I reorder or just leave them the way they are? HELP ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

No, people will know the cocktail hour starts at seven. That's the way the reception card should read. My will say the same thing - Reception at 7pm, which is when the CH starts.
People know to show up at the time on the card, not an hour earlier!
It's correct!

Agreed. No need to re-order.
The cocktail hour is considered part of the reception

Thats what my card reads too...
Reception at 7:00 (but really its the cocktail)
Thats what the lady at the invitation store said is correct...
Everytime I had a question I was like... HELP ME! and she told me what most people do...

Re: Reception card wording . . . HELP ! I might have to reorder !!
I would say that most people think of the reception as cocktails, dinner, and dancing.
So if it says reception at 7pm, then they should know that's the beginning of the cocktail hour since that's first.
You're fine
Now, if it said 'dinner at 7pm' then I would say to reorder.

I don't think that you need to reorder. People should know, that the cocktail hour is at 7:00 PM.

I guess you can leave it.. but I actually put the time the CH starts and said Reception Imediately following,
reason: ceremony will prob end at 11: am and the CH starts @12:30.

I wouldn't reorder. I put on mine reception begins at 6:30 in the evening and really never even thought to put cocktail hour at that time and reception at 7:30. I think most people will either just assume it is cocktail hour first or think your not having one and get a pleasant surpirse. Don't worry too much about it!
