Reception dress

I am really want to enjoy my reception, my FH and I love to dance so do my BM, we all party pretty hard. This being the case, I will need to change out of my dress as some point during the reception. Any one know where I can get a really sexy dress to wear? I still want to look like the bride, but I want to be sexy and comfortable.

I just want to let you know that changing from one dress to another is going to take you away from your reception for awhile. I was thinking about changing into a second dress also but then I realized that I would miss out on part of the reception. Also you only get to wear your wedding gown one day. thats why I am gonna not go with the second dress and keep mine on all day.

Re: Reception dress

I don't know how others felt but when I was planning I thought that 5 hours at the reception would be sooooo long and plenty of time.

Day of......

I couldn't belive how short it felt. Between cocktail hour, first dance, parent dances, bouquet toss, cake cutting....there wasn't that much just dance time for us.

I don't think that it would be worth it to change into something else. If anything that would just kill more time that you aren't dancing.

hope this helps.

You are very welcome ...But defintely think about what the other ladies said...It takes time to get out of a wedding dress, so you dont want to miss out on too much of your reception...I mean do what makes you happy of course, but def think about it

Re: Reception dress

Thanks for the advice, but after trying on several wedding dresses I know that I will absolutely have to change at some point during the night. My FH would be crushed if we didn't party hard at our reception. It will only take me 20 minutes, tops, to change and I will have my BM keeping me company in the Bridal suite. We'll drink and party while I change.

Re: Reception dress

It was FH's idea that I should change into a 2nd dress at the reception because of all the dancing that we normally do. I was like 'hell NO'. We only get married once so we will try dancing as best as we can that one night. We have the rest of our lives to party hardy.

Definately think about it. If you still want the 2nd dress, by all means go for it. If there is one common theme of past brides its 'that it goes by soooo fast'.

Good luck.

ETA - I just saw your post about changing. Let us know what 'sexy' dress you end up buying.

Fh's cousin just got marrie din october and she had a ball gown too. ANd she danced all night and had no problem. I don't think she ever left the dance floor. So it is possible to do.

Same here!!! It's just won't work for me. Besides, I am so not like most woman, wearing a wedding dress is not that big of a deal for me. When I explained to FH how I was feeling, it was his suggestion for me to change. He thought I was crazy for even considering to wear the wedding dress for the entire reception. I so love him
