We are planning to get married around Sept 2011. Haven't set the exact date yet. We will not have a big budget so I would like to get some ideas about places for about 50 ppl and not so expensive.
Unfortunately, we are living across the country so i can't go visit places anytime i want. After Xmas i will have a few days to check out a few places so help me narrow down my options.
We want something not too old fashion but nicely decorated, has good service and good food.
Thanks,
Cheers!

Re: Reception for 50 ppl???
Look into the Milleridge Carriage House. I don't know their exact numbers, but the food is FABULOUS. I'd give them a call and ask them to send you some info.

Re: Reception for 50 ppl???
The Metropolitan in Glen Cove has smaller rooms for a smaller reception and has more of a modern feel if you don't want old fashioned.
Another place that would be really nice for a smaller reception and gorgeous in the fall would be the Sans Souci of Sea Cliff and the Swan Club in Glen Head.

Re: Reception for 50 ppl???
Westbury Manor gave me a 60 person min. in their small room for a Saturday night. They could probably do 50 on a friday or saturday.

Really, what are they asking for per person?

Sans Souci of Sea Cliff has a minimum guarantee of 50- I booked there and love it!
Try The Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon. They have 3 rooms, all facing the water, and they're all beautiful!

Re: Reception for 50 ppl???
Vetro can only hold 100 people, normally their min is 75, but if you talk to someone there about it I am positive they would work something out with you. Good luck & happy planning!!!

Re: Reception for 50 ppl???
Thanks everyone for your responses. I called WM and they said they can do 50 ppl in their Hill Room. Does anyone know about that place and room?
I kinda liked the picture but need to see it in person. Luckily, I will come to East Coast for Xmas so i can check some places out.
This whole wedding thing is too much work and gives me stress :( So many things to think, plan and find out...
I should call more places as you guys mentioned.
Jericho Terrace is doing min 75 people. My FML went to a wedding there and she liked it very much. Oh well, mine will be a smaller one so we will pass on that...

Go on youtube and type in Hill room westbury manor. There is a video of a sweet 16 and a wedding. If I remember correctly it is on a DJs site.
I am using that room for our wedding. So I can answer some questions

I know that Eastwind has a place for smaller weddings. I'm not sure how many, but you should check them out!

Re: Reception for 50 ppl???
There was a bride who had her wedding at Honu in Huntington. It is an awesome restaurant with GREAT food. Also check out the Carriage House in Babylon. Their food is amazing!!!!
You might have a better shot looking into restaurants. They'll be ok with the 50 person minimum! GOOD LUCK!
