Reception Games
I've heard of couples playing 'games' during the reception. Has anyone ever seen these done, and if so was it fun or just kinda ridiculous.
One is called Wedding Couple Trivia where you have questions about you and spouse written on cards ahead of time (things like Where you met, Who had braces as a child, ect). A parent usually starts it off, selecting a guest to answer. If answered correctly, he or she will step up to microphone to call new guest. (this works for a bridal shower too)
Roman Hands & Russian Fingers is another one where the Bride is blind-folded. The bestman places 3 small clips somewhere on groom's body. Should be difficult to find (like shoe laces, back of hair). Blind folded bride must then find each clip with her hands. To make the game more interactive and fun, allow guests to call out 'warmer' or 'colder' as the bride's fumbling hands get closer to or further away from a clip.
Switch the Shoes works like this. A bride and groom each get one of each others shoes in hand and then stand back-to-back. Asked 'What if' questions like 'Who will take out the garbage with being asked?' They hold up the shoe of who fits the bill. Everyone gets a kick outta their answers.
There's also one where the couple will come up with questions about the bride and groom before hand. Some easy, some hard. And they are placed in a basket. Someone from the bridal party pulls one out at random and the first table to clink their glass has to answer correctly in order to get the bride & groom to kiss.
I've been to only one wedding where games were played, but the ones she chose were different and I wasn't a big fan of 'em. There was musical chairs, and then a race of who can kiss every guest first. Most of their games i felt were too competitive. I really don't wanna be 'competing' with my FH. I just kinda feel like we're a team. Sounds corny, but you know what I mean!
I do like some of those other ones I've heard about tho. Any of you ever seen these done? What do you think???
