Well, I went to several places today and just got back. This can be very exhausing .
I went to Fox Hollow, Crest Hollow, Stewart Manor, Floral Terrace and Leonard's.
Fox Hollow is absolutely beautiful. Floral Terrace and Crest Hollow was nice as well. Unfortunately, my wedding count was not high enough for them. They needed at least 100 people. I also went to Stewart Manor. It was in a residential neighborhood and it appears there was construction going on in the back. I decided I did not want it there.
I loved Leonard's. There is alot of food to choose from. Also, everything will be on the ground level and that is great since my father is in a wheelchair. Even if everything was not on the ground level, I was happy to see that there was an elevator. However, they did not have my date available. So the BM suggested another date. So I am considering it.
So now I am narrowing down to 2 choices, the Swan Club and Leonard's.
I may go see Bridgeview Yacht Club. I haven't decided yet. We will see.....

Do the small room at the Fox Hollow - forgot the name of it but the one with all the windows - we looked there as well when we wanted a small wedding but now we ended up with almost 200 people so we did not book there.

Re: Reception Hall decision/Narrowing it down
swan club and leonards were my final too as well
I choose Leonards over swan club because swan club would be so hard to find (for the guest) the street signs are way to small
and plus leonards is beautiful!!

Re: Reception Hall decision/Narrowing it down
I chose the Swan Club....Everything is beautiful and Jordana is wonderful..
With Leonard's, I felt that our wedding day would be rushed and I would have to make the time of the wedding earlier because someone was already getting married that morning. Also, it was not the original day that I wanted. It was the following day. I also felt that there wasn't any chemistry between the banquet manager and us.
So the Swan it is....

Re: Reception Hall decision/Narrowing it down
which ever you choose, make sure you've got breathing room with the minimum. The last thing you want is for fewer RSVP's to come in, and then you're stuck paying for empty seats... and stressing over negotiations to get a few extras thrown in.....

Re: Reception Hall decision/Narrowing it down
I can't speak for weddings, but I went to the LIJ holiday party at the Swan Club and was shocked at how mediocre the food and service were at such a high-end place. It was December and they had they ac vents blowing frigid air down on everyone. MANY people complained and were impatiently brushed away by the staff.

Wow, I am surprised to hear about the food being mediocre. Maybe that was just one incident.

I'd like to think so. I know so many people who have been to weddings and parties there and they also brag about good the food is. I'm picky with food so you can never judge by me, but out of lets say 50 people I spoke, not one complained about the food, so I'm pretty sure we'll be fine.
