Hello ladies this is my first post here but i though it was time i got serious about this planning business. I live in florida but my fiancee's family is all from the nyc area so we've decided to have our wedding in long island. I was hoping you ladies could help me narrow down some reception halls so when i'm up visiting idon't have 50 places to visit. These are some important features for me: 1. I like high ceilings, chandaliers, windows everywhere and a nice view ie water 2. i'd like something more modern and airy 3. it need to be not too far from the city
i'm having about 150p and my budget is not quite set yet so i'm open....to an extent of course.
any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

i saw some pics of weddings at chateau la mer on this website and it does look lovely. i need it to be near the city only b/c fiance has a lot of elderly family and not sure how they would do with a long drive. most would be coming from brooklyn.

would you consider doing it maybe in brooklyn, queens, bronx or the city.
bridgewaters in manhattan would be a good option. Or how about marina del rey in the bronx

Re: reception hall help
honestly, i don't like brooklyn and i dislike the bronx and queens even more....i'm just not a New Yorker. I would do manhattan but all the quotes i'm getting add up to about 250 and up with gratuity and taxes. it's a bit excessive for a wedding. I've been to a wedding in LI before and it was pretty so that's why i've decided on this area as well as it being more reasonable priced.

Re: reception hall help
its not cheap but honestly if you want water most places are out in suffolk, bridgeview though is not that far...but if you want all the other things and possibly the city it will also cost. how much per person are you willing to spend
