Well actaully Im looking for reasonable prices no more than 110pp, somewhere near a water or with a garden, great food, and no more than two weddings at a time.

Re: Reception Hall Help
Unfortunately, sometimes these places are hit or miss. I went to a wedding at Leonard's, which has gotten good reviews, but we thought the food was NOT good and the service was terrible. It's also a bit much with all the glitz and glamour, IMO.

Have you checked the Fox Hollow (gardens), Westbury manor (gardens) the riviera (water) or Venetian Yacht club (on the water)? They may fall in the price range you are looking for, 2 weddings at most as far as I know each at one time

I have been to a number of weddings at CLM. Its not good. the food is awful i literally got sick from the food the last time i went there. the cocktail hour is pretty good. but for the money your going to be paying i would advise someone to look elsewhere.

I've been to a wedding a couple months ago at clm and it was great. Staff was excellent and food was delicious.
We booked right away. And it was a resaonable price.

You said you tasted the food and wasn't really crazy for it but like the yacht idea
I wouldn't book a place you dont like th food.
Food and music to me are the 2 most important things.

I went to a wedding at majestic gardens. The food was terrible (not even fresh Mozzeralla with the Mozz & Tomato Salad). My FH brought his own bottle that they drank in the bridal suite, I guess the bar must have been limited. and from what i heard they paid, I think you could of had it a Fox Hollow which would have been a big step up.
Crescent beach club will probaly be out of your price range if these are the places you are interested in.
Because you live in the Bronx, I would also suggest the swan club or westbury manor or fox hollow even.
hmm, when did you go to a wedding there. the place was recetly remodeld the owener is fantastic and i have been to several events there. always top shelf liqour and thee food is out fo this world. several years ago someone i know had a party there and i wasnt all that great but now that they have new owners it is amazing and have won top catering awards for the past few years. i am sorry to hear you had a bad experience there the place is now out of this world
I just went to a wedding at Majestic Gardens about a month ago. Everything was excellent and the grounds were gorgeous! I had the chicken francaise and it was great. Everyone at my table loved it.

Re: Reception Hall Help
Obviously it's all subjective.
I'm getting married at CLM -- love the food and the prices are reasonable compared to other places. Some people hate it though. For the most part, CLM gets pretty good reviews.
I went to a wedding at Majestic Gardens and the food was literally disgusting. I spit my food out twice -- once during the CH and once during dinner. I looked around the table and no one was touching their food. I would never recommend them to anyone under any circumstances. But some people love the place -- go figure.

***********I just want to add that sometimes RHs sign on as fake brides to bash other rival RH's to make them lose business. Not saying that this is what's going on here but just keep that in mind.
Go to a food tasting at all those places and see for yourself.

Re: Reception Hall Help
Check the Venetian Yacht Club. I got a Saturday night on March 28 for a great price- FM me for details. I love the view, and went for my tasting. The food was fantastic.
I LOVED the Riviera. Very reasonable. Went to the tasting, and did NOT love the food, so we went elsewhere. But I have to say, when I first got there, I thought, THIS is where I'm getting married. I'm still so sad it didn't work out. However, there are plenty of people on this site who rave about their food, so it could just be my personal taste.
Good luck!
