Reception Hall Help! please!

Reception Hall Help! please!

Hi! I am brand new to this! We basically just started looking for halls this week. We would like to spend about $75-80 base pp (about $90 to $100 including tax and gratuity - I have learned a lot in a few days of this). Anyway, we looked at Chateau La Mer, The Carriage House at the Miller Place Inn and The Riviera. I love CLM and The Riviera, but they have minimums for Sat night and we want to keep the # lower to be within budget. For a Sat evening in Sept 09 do you think they would budge on $ per head or minimum guarantee? We are checking out The Coral House tomorrow and I am crossing my fingers. Thanks for any suggestions!!

welcome and congrats! As for them changing the minimums in september i m not so sure...thats a pretty busy time for reception halls but it doesn't hurt to ask...Also, why not consider a friday night? We aer getting married at CLM but couldn't make the minimum for a Sat. night...so we are getting married on a Friday instead!

Changing the day isn't an option. We already have the church booked.

hmmm..a lot of reception halls stick to their minimums until maybe november...you could try though...good luck

What sorts of things are you looking for as far as Reception halls

I definitley like places on the water, but I guess it is not totally necessary. Honestly, just something that is 'nice' and afforadable, within Nassau or Western Suffolk (church is in Hicksville), also an outdoor cocktail hour is nice. My FH also has a thing about on 1 or 2 weddings at a time.

have you looked at fox hollow/westbury manor? how many people are you looking at?

I was thinking maybe looking at westbury manor. Fox Hollow is a no no since FH's friend had wedding there last year - he's silly about that. We are probably going to be small with 75-100 guests. Thanks for your help!

What is the min for The Riviera in September? We are getting married there in August on a Thursday and we have 100 min.

Can you change the date of the church? Leonards of great neck will give you that price, but not for a Fall wedding.....i also think coral house is about that price, but the fall will be more expensive i think

Swan club!! Definitely check it out. It might be slightly above your price range for a saturday night in september, but it's worth a shot. I'm not sure if their prices differ for the different rooms, but since you have a max of 100 you will probably have the mid-sized room so they might be able to work with you on price per head. They are so helpful and nice so just call and check it out, doesn't hurt.

Fall weddings atthat price are hard. But try Lido Golf Course. Or The Sands in Atlantic Beach or Lido Beach. What about Bridgeview Yachtclub??? Not sure how much they are But at leats they are on or really close to the water! I love the FOX Hollow Winter Garden Pavillion Room. To bad its a no for u guys. Im partial my reception is in the Garden Terrace Room.

I just wanted to thank all of you ladies for your suggestions. I was getting frustrated (and upset) that our first few selections were not working out. We are looking at a few more this week. Who said this was easy?! Thanks again to all

Try the country gardens at east wind. It's perfect for that size wedding and is absolutely beautiful!! I know some of the girls on here are having it there. Ask around!!!
