Reception Hall Prices

Hey everyone, I am new to this site. I have been searching reception halls and their prices on the comparison guide on this site. Are the prices current? For instance, the Swan Club is listed as $60.

We are trying to plan an Aug 2010 wedding...can anyone who is getting married that month (or around that time) help with price ideas?

Hi congrats and welcome!!

I wouldn't base the price on whats listed on the site. Different times of the year as well as days will vary in prices- Off season will cost cheaper than peak season, friday nights or daytime weddings cheaper than a Saturday night... you can go through the old thread hopefully it will be helpful!

good luck!

the prices on the RH list isnt really up to date...I am getting married in october (close enough to august!! lol) and was getting quoted from $75 and up for a sunday evening...I got a quote as high as $130 for a sunday night...

Definately read through the thread that we have with all of our 2010 quotes...Good luck!!

Your best bet is to go to the halls you like to get a qoute since the sites & magazines don't have up to date or specifics in regards to prices.

Congrats and welcome!!! Your best bet is to look at the thread we have and to visit RHs to negotiate your price.

Welcome!
I also suggest going to the halls, I know when I started looking I didn't realize how much all the extras were. The halls gave us a base of what it was per plate. It was important for my FH and I to have the extra fish at the cocktail hour and the venitian hour which was an additional $35.00.

Advise, shop around, find a place you love 'Like I did' LOL and hopefully they will try to work with you.

Re: Reception Hall Prices

Best thing to do is look around here or other sites and get a list of halls you want to look at and just go! Some places will work with you & negotiate... some won't, but that's ok cause you will find the place you love :)
In my experience sometimes you can't judge a place but the pictures on the website(s), I've been to a few that I thought looked 'ok' but when I saw it in person it was much nicer. Just check everything out in your area in your price range.

It's actually fun going to the halls.. and the food tastings! Yum. Lots of fun.. or at least I think so :)
