Reception hall reviews
This review is dedicated to all the brides going crazy looking for a reception hall. It took me 4 months to book one. We went to over 20 places in Nassau county as well as Brooklyn and queens. I was not happy with any of them . I also go to about 6 wedding per year so I know what to look for and what to compare.
Here is a list of all the places I have visited that stood out to me
Elite palace- was an inch away from booking it- but I did not feel well treated by the staff. I had to beg for a food tasting- and never got one- the place opened up not even half a year ago so how was I supposed to know what their food tasted like? They need more experience. The ball room is breath taking but it’s a little too big- I would have 200 people there and it would look to empty. Other then the ballroom it, it loses its magnificence. Hate that it is right of a busy street. They need more greenery around- no place to take photos.
Terrace on the park- been there before- food is soso and people complain about their service. The penthouse is very nice but they need serious renovation because when you enter it has an old smell to it. The look is definitely outdated.
Chateau Briand- gorgeous cocktail hour-( if you do it outside.) They had the best steak I had in my life. I didn’t even put any sauce on it because I didn’t want to ruin it. ?
The winner for me was the sand castle- little bit more expensive- never went to a wedding there but I could be happier with my decision- Keep in mind I am VERY picky (im sure you can tell since it took me 4 months to choose one). The pictures on the site do not do it justice. Take a look for yourself. PLUS they are building an outside cocktail hour that will be connected to the main cocktail room- which will have stairs leading to the garden. The pictures look gorgeous of the design. They said they will start working on it this summer- so I hope that for my wedding in August 2010 it will be ready.
If you guys have questions on venues please respond and I will give you my feed back on the weddings I have been to or the places I have visited. All 30 of them .
