Re: Reception Halls

I have only looked online so far. I am going to be tight on money, as I'm sure most of us are! What do you think are the best places for their price? Thanks

Re: Reception Halls

I went to over 11 RH's looking for the perfect place. We booked THE ROYALTON. And I can tell you that November prices are comparable to June... but for that era it was 130-140 pp for a Fri night and 170-180 pp for Sat night. They have only 1 wedding there too! AMAZING PLACE!! GO CHECK IT OUT!

Also, the Millerrige cottage and carriage house wasn't so nice. The ceilings were drop ceilings and they were sooo low... I got the feeling I was in a basement. My fiance is 6ft 5 and his head was so close to the ceiling! When we were leaving there was an old lady with a shopping cart (like one you would see in a supermarket) running around the parking lot. Although they say they do 1 wedding at a time... keep in mind that's because they have little RH's all over the place. Really they do like 3 at a time but in different buildings. The picture they show in all the books is georgous... but that's just for the cocktail hour.

I also visited Wesbury Manor, Foxhollow, The Swan Club (horrible), Douglaston Manor (they need to do better upkeep and cleaning there), Wind Watch, Carlyle on the Green, The Coral House (horrible coktail area), amongst others.

Go see the Royalton... you will love it!

I bought a book on the RH's and in it listed details on each hall with prices and number of weddings at a time... pictures were included. I used that book to decipher where to go!

I haven't looked at any reception halls yet except for online. Can you tell me which ones only have one wedding at a time? Not sure if this is necessary but I was wondering.
Thanks!

North Ritz Club......its AMAZING

Re: Reception Halls

The Swan club had an AMAZING outdoors area! i really was impressed by that. But I hated the reception room they showed me. The cocktail hour room was very nice... but you had to walk through the reception room to get to the cocktail hour...which I didn't like. The reception room was an awkard layout for me... I felt like my table was shoved in the corner and just wasn't centralized or symmetrical; also the color scheme was burgundy, forest green and cream... none of which matched my look.
I see you got married there.. i mean no offense to you... it just wasn't for me. Also, the banquet manager was a bit rude and hollow; he seemed emotionless. I don't know if they have other rooms... I can only give an account on the specific rooms I saw there.
