Reception Halls

Hi everyone,

I'm new to LI wedding. I'm currently in the process along with my FH searching for reception halls. I have visited a few and has narrowed it down. If anyone ever had their wedding at these location or been to a wedding there I would appreciate any reviews.

Leonards of Great Neck
Chateau La Mer
Majestic Gardens
Surf Club New Rochelle

I like Leonards because the price is reasonable.
CLM I like the factor that we get a yatch, the food there was okay during the tasting, wasn't a fan of it.
MG love the place and the BM was great with working out prices, it just a distance because we're coming from the Bronx.
The Surf Club is ten mins from my home, my guest and family's home but not sure of the food and they don't offer tasting. Any help?

Welcome to LIWeddings 2010 board (aka the mad house ) I don't have any info about the halls you mentioned, but if you do a search on the Brides Helping Brides board and the Brides Review board you'll find tons of stuff!

There's another woman on here looking into Majestic Gardens I'll try to find the post and BUMP it for you.

Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!!!

welcome and congrats! out of all the places you've mentioned, i've only been to leornards. the food there is good and prices are reasonable, but i've heard brides who get married there usually spend a lot more with all the add ons.

Re: Reception Halls

Please do... there's a 2010 bride here also looking into the Majestic Gardens...

I went to a wedding there (Saturday day) in May of 2007. It was good. My friends had a buffet brunch. The food was really good... I loved the cheesecake martini bar, which is a Majestic Gardens exclusive!!!

Hey the Surf Club is 10 minutes from my house too! Fh brother got married there and the school that I teach at has their prom there every year. Food is exceptional and the view and staff are just great..I highly recommend it I can give you a few names of people to deal with if you want!

Re: Reception Halls

welcome!!

The only hall I have been to a function at on your list is Chateau La Mer. The Cocktail hour was amazing, the main meal was good, I can't comment on the entrees though, I had to have mine specially made because of a pepper allergy.

The event had a Viennese hour... I have never seen so many deserts there (FH loved the candy apple I took home for him).

I visited leonards when I was looking at halls, but don't know anything about the food or service.
