Reception Halls

Hi...I am new to this website and really am trying to narrow down a list of venues for a spring 2013 wedding. Any imput on (1) Carlyle (2)Glen Cove Mansion
(3) Westbury Country Club (3) The Village Club at Lake Success (4) Thatched Cottage (5) Royalton.

We have narrowed it down to those five. I am not sure of pricing or food. Any imput would be soooooo appreciated!

Re: Reception Halls

I'm booked at Thatched Cottage so I'm a little biased. But it was the best price we got and the most amount of stuff. We did our tasting before we booked and the food was FANTASTIC. Couldn't be happier!

Out of those five I only looked at the Carlyle. I was quoted $150++ for a Saturday night in March.

we looked at the royalton - loved it - but it was so out of our price range; even in oct/nov. i think we were quoted around $140++ for 125ppl(and things like vallet parking etc would've been additional on top of that).

i will say that thatched was one of the best weddings we've been too. so much food; such good food, and such impecable service. the waiters are on top of their game there. and our friends got an amazing deal in march.

I think from May - September for a Saturday, Carlyle is 195 + 22% service and tax...they also make you have 4 valets per 100 people, and each valet is $135 extra. Hope that helps!

Thatched Cottage - hands down!!!! I may be a little biased but our wedding was perfect. Amazing food, flexible and friendly staff, great location. I've said this before on here but I feel as if the Thatched is a hidden gem.

the Thatched...we like the place very much...our only concern was that we were going to be married on site but if there was inclimate weather the upstairs chapel has not elevator and we had a couple of handicapped people who would not be able to use the stairs...

I'm booked at the Carlyle and I can't wait, I've heard nothing but great things. I also looked at the Royalton and loved it also but wasn't sure if it would be too small (we're looking at 200-225 people) - they can accommodate but it looked a little tight for that number. I loved it also though.

I'm another vote for Thatched Cottage (also biased). We did the tasting and the food was amazing! Thatched Cottage was the only place I looked at on the list of 5 you have, but out of all of the ones I looked at, it gave us the most food for the best price. The staff is friendly and helpful and I've heard nothing but great things about it! There are a lot of variables that go into their pricing (day, time, # of people, ceremony on site, etc) so I recommend calling Maureen and taking a trip there!

I had the same concern, but they said if that was the case, I could use the smaller room across from the ballroom. I'm not sure if you booked yet, but just a thought in case you were still looking!

I am staying at the Glen Cove Mansion for my wedding night. I have never visited, because once I found out that their packages usually start around $200 pp, I decided it wasn't worth my time. Hope this helps!
