Reception halls needed for a reasonable price - Where do you recommend?
Original post by KarenB
My cousin is getting engaged soon and would like a winter wedding, in December of 2005. Where can you recommend between $50- $75 PP. Also, I believe it will be around 50 - 75 people.
TIA

Try the Westbury Manor. They are very reasonable and in your price range

FH and I originally wanted a wedding of no more than 100 people (number was 75). When we called around to many of the places they said their minimum was 100.
If you have a wedding of less than 100 often the room is way too small. At many halls you will be the third bride. SWan Club could not guarantee me the use of the chapel until 6 months before my date and the room only had small tables for four and was off the bar area. Watermill had a small room whose dance floor was tiny (it's the room near the actual watermill). Huntington Harbor Club (min 100), Thatched Cottage (minimum 125).
It's a lot more of a challenge so I would suggest make a list according to your needs and call everywhere and ask their minimums even before you visit.

I second the Riviera, it's in that price range, gorgeous in the winter, and will be perfect for a 50-75 person wedding.
We had to garauntee 130 for the Riviera - make sure you tell thenm up front your number.
I can highly recommend them, you'll see my review posted soon.

Hi Karen- I looked at the Metropolitan, but was told the minimum there was 125, so I don't know if that would work.
As someone else said, many of the halls I looked at (the lower priced ones) required a minimum of 100. The Milleridge Carriage House has a lower minimum, I think it is 75. I liked it, but we were working with weird numbers (a lot of out of towners.) The Milleridge prices that I was quoted were comparable (very slightly higher) to Stewart Manor and the Swan Club.
I think the Coral House might have a smaller room as well, but not entirely sure.

Not only does The Riviera fall into your price range, also it is for smaller and intimate weddings. I HIGHLY recommend calling Victoria or Robert Jay!!! They were the most accomodating people and by far the sweetest out of all the halls I have been to. And that is why I booked them!

Try the Metropolitan - we booked there. We got a 50 person min and a very good price.
