Any ideas on how to make my wedding (the hall, at least) a 'Disney Wedding', without it looking all 'cutesey'. I'm a huge Minnie Mouse/Disney fan, but I'm clueless as how to decorate. I'm thinking of centerpieces, decorations, etc. I'm getting married at Bridgeview Yacht Club. Thanks.

If you don't want to do cutesy- why don't you do something less obvious like hidden mikeys in the flower arrangement or topiaries (sp?)

Well, the problem is I'm allergic to flowers - all of them!! And, I figured something 'glass' mickey, rather than the colored ones (or something like that) would be an idea. As I said, I'm clueless

I went to a wedding once where the Groomsmen wore Mickey Mouse vests under their tux. It was really cute

I may be in the minority but I dont think you are going to be able to incorporate Mickey/Minnie into your decor without it being too precious. Just my opinion.

I think the problem you're facing is that Mickey = cutesy. Anyway you shape it, its cutesy. But I think you're on the right track with eliminating the color mickey and sticking to glass.
How much Mickey/Minnie do you want? I would do little touches here and there but keep them out of the centerpieces and main decorations. In addition to those below, you could have a cake topper and ice sculpture. Perhaps white minnie candles on the table and disney invites?
here are some ways to incorporate your theme: ring bearer pillow:
minnie, I agree with lisat, mickey=cutesy. Sorry to hear you are allergic to flowers have you considered silks especially for your bouquet? I have seen a lot of disney stuff I'll try to post it as I see it or I will FM you.

Re: Reception Ideas please!
I'm having a disney, mickey/minnie themed wedding also!! Here's what I have to incorporate the theme...
1)Invitations (Sweethearts for life - mickey/minnie)-pearl embossed
2)Seating cards to match invitations
3)Lenox caked topper (it just came out)
4)Silver seals for the invitations
5)Mickey ears floating candles for the tables
I'm still on the search new and creative ideas, I would like to add more but like you said without it looking cutesy! I'm having a nice elegant, classy wedding with a touch of theme.
I got some ideas and bought some things from ebay. Just type in 'mickey mouse wedding'. I check there every couple of days to see if anything new came out. Also, if you're looking to buy mickey/minnie invitations, I got them from someone on ebay that sells them for a bit less then the stores. If your interested let me know-forum mail me.
Hope this helps!!!

Re: Reception Ideas please!
you can do disney centerpieces or maybe wear a glass slipper of some sort under your dress and lose it and have your new husband slip on the slipper when he is taking the garter off...
there are disney invitations you can use...
i told FI i want 'be our guest' played during cocktail hour. he said no
he is a big meanie
just let your imagination soar. it will be a beautiful magical wedding

Re: Reception Ideas please!
I downloaded Disney font for a friend who is getting married in Walt Disney World. You could use that for placecards and stuff.

Re: Reception Ideas please!
Oh and I know you are allergic to flowers but this is pretty cool...
Hi! What's Disney font? Where do I find it? I liked the Be My Guest idea, but it's my future MIL that would most likely roll her eyes. I actually DO have a glass slipper (even though I'm more a Minnie fan than Cinderella). Problem is the largest size (which I have) is 6 1/2 - too small for my foot! Any other suggestions?

Re: Reception Ideas please!
I know you said you are allergic to flowers. What if you used silk flowers?
Anyway, here is a minnie & mickey cake topper. It might be too cutesy, but I thought I'd give it a shot. I'll try to search for something in clear glass for ya!
