I'm planning a fall '09 wedding for max 55 people. I'd like to do a brunch or lunch. No band or DJ so I only need about 4 hours. I can't go above $60pp (including tax+tip). Anyone have actual quotes around this price?
Thanks! Laura

Re: Reception location for $60pp?
maybe a restaurant with a large private room? no DJ or band? Is it that its just not in the budget or that you are against them? I think for 4 hours .. a DJ or a band is something to consider.. we went to a retirement party with no band and it was for 2 hours and we were bored out of our minds...

You should check out The Meadow Club...I had a quote of 64 pp for a Saturday Night in November, so I'm sure their brunch package will be considerably less. Good luck!

Would you be open to doing it at a private room in a restaurant? If so you should definitely check out 21 Main in West Sayville. They will be within your price range, it's a beautiful place and the food and service are great! Good luck!

Re: Reception location for $60pp?
Thank you for the great suggestions...I will check out these places.
Cafe on the Green is pretty but it doesnt have an elevator and my elderly grandparents can't do the stairs. The Cafe said they would 'carry' wheelchairs up! Yikes
We're not doing the band or DJ partly to save $ and also b/c we're not big dancers. We'd probably have some background music or a classical guitarist.
Really we're just excited to get together with the family and friends and chat and eat.
I'll let you know what I find!

Hi There!
I'm getting married at the Lessings location 'The Smithtown Landing Country Club' and they can definitely figure out something awesome to give you for that price AND your cake and open bar would be included. FM me if you need anything and when you call, ask to speak to Rich and you two can set up an appointment! :)
Good luck!

Just wanted to say welcome and congrats to you and FH. I'm not sure about the prices but I've been to the Riverview in Oakdale and it's got great food and would suit the size of your party very well. Again just not sure of their prices. good luck and keep us posted!

Westbury Manor...
I know my friend's little sister had a sweet 16 there and the parents paid 50 PP. It was also in February on a Friday night which knocked down the cost considerably. It was really nice though- open bar, cocktail hour, and really good food. I suggest checking them out!

Re: Reception location for $60pp?
Welcome to the 09' boards. Would you consider doing a weekday....i.e. Thursday night, wedding? FSIL got married at the Rivera, nice place, really good food and they included EVERYTHING....Cocktail hour, Viennese hour, top shelf liquor plus tax and gratuity for $55 per head. It's definitely something to check out if you're trying to be budget conscious. If you're not planning on using a DJ, I would definitely suggest having some kind of background music, even if you do a favorite play list on your I-Pod and have it played wherever you end up having your reception. If you have any questions, FM me and I'd be more than happy to help you out!!
