FH and I may 'steal' a half hour from the reception to supplement the cocktail hour (so CH will be half hour longer and reception 1/2 hour shorter). If you were going to a wedding, would you like this/hate this/not care?
We are hoping for a nice day, and if this is the case the outside CH space at Land's End is awesome. Plus FH and I aren't huge dancers so we are much more into eatting at the CH

honeslty, i think ch is the BEST part of the recetption. and ususally by the end of the night people are tired and i don't think they would be upset to leave at 12 instead of 12:30. hth

I think most people enjoy the coctail hour very much and if it was longer they would probably enjoy it - I am not a big eater so either way i would be happy but i know that my FH would love it if were longer -

We might be doing this because of the pictures standpoint. We're taking about an hour or an hour of half of pictures before the ceremony, but we also plan on having some pictures done with the family and such during the CH. Since we don't want to miss the CH entirely, we're having an 1 1/4 hr CH and then a 3 3/4 hour reception. I don't think anyone will really notice the difference too much.

That is another reason we are considering it - since we will be taking pics during some of the CH

Id say more cocktail hour - heres why
MORE FOOD! LOL The food will be out the whole hour and a half. When you get to the reception it is not there until they are ready to serve it to you.
You can still hang out and eat. My family mentioned they wished the CH was longer. So do I because I didnt even get to attend it! :(

Personally I'd like more to the reception, however, my bro/SIL extended their CH by 1/2 an hour (not taking from the reception), and everyone loved it. THey were at Crescent Beach club & it was a beautiful July day & everyone really enjoyed themselves & were commenting on the view and the food. It is also more of a chance to mingle.
