Reception Places

Hi all! I am getting married in Sept-Oct 2009...we are in the midst if figuring out the reception site. I need ideas of places to see and typical prices you have received for a sept, early oct wedding. I am also in Houston, TX and will have to travel back to LI (I grew up in Massapequa) so need to narrow down. We both want to have the outdoors to be a factor- green is a must! :) likely for the pictures and cocktail hour. We are on a budget and would like to spend 50-100 (top of budget +/_) per person. thinking 120-150 people.

Thanks in advance!!

Check out the Hamlet in commack... it is on a golf course and they have an outdoor patio for the cocktail hour. I am getting married there this September.

I would take a look at the Riveria, Chateau La Mer, and Cresthollow Country Club. All are within you budget and have outdoor areas (Particularly CHCC which has over 20 acres of land)

Woodbury Country Club!! You might be able to get them under $100 for a Friday night or Sunday day wedding...definitely give them a call, they were beyond wonderful.

Westbury Manor is also beautiful!

We got married at East Wind Country Gardens on a Sat in Sept. and it was 100 pp including all taxes. Definetly negotiate. Tell them what you want want to pay pp (always start lower) and go from there. GL!!

I would check out the Swan Club first. They are very reasonable and have beautfiul grounds. Westbury Manor is also gorgeous. I am getting married at the Watermill. They have a really nice outside area, but not a lot of green.

check out Larkfield Manor. We had our reception there and it was wonderful. they have nice landscaping and outside patio for cocktail hour. we booked in Nov 2006 for Sun evening wedding and prices were in your range.
they also have a nice garden with gazebo and bridge across from the main entrance.

If you are looking for green and affordable, check out Smithtown Landing. It's on a golf course, and has beautiful grounds and the price is right!

Woodbury Country Club!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ask for Andrew, he will make it work for you. I had lost a $1000 deposit because I switched places and he ate that $1000 for me. The food is crazy and the grounds are beautiful.

I also have been there three times to look around where they tell you to make yourself comfortable and they offer to feed you while you show friends around.

Hahha I sound like I own the place!

FM me for more info or just go to :

Re: Reception Places

I just looked at a place in Manhasset Long Island. I am considering strongly.
It is called Strathmore Vanderbilt Country Club.
Very charming, only one reception at a time and very reasonable pricing.
The building was built in the 1800's. The website
is: www.strathmorevanderbiltcc.com
You can e-mail the manager and get some info.
or call 516-627-2433
I think this is a wonderful atmosphere and very pleasant
people to work with.
