reception seating question!

Hi ladies,

I have no clue about this...when you do your seating charts for your tables, is one side of the reception room the 'bride's' side and the other the 'groom's'?????? I wasn't thinking of doing them like that but is this what everyone does? (If so is there a reason it's done this way??)

Thanks so much ladies!!!!!!!!

i think it's done this way so that your guests will have more fun with the ppl they know
at my wedding there will be lots of intermingling so i doubt i will seat ppl that way
i think it's fine to do it anyway that your guests will get along best and have the best time
(and whichever way is easier for you)
:)

Re: reception seating question!

usually odd numbers are the brides tables and even numbers are the grooms side...the reason why the bride gets odd numbers is so that the brides parents get table number 1. I kept to that method for the most part, well the tables closest to us which are family i did it that way, i mixed it a little with our bp since with their dates we had 3 bp tables, i gave table number 3 to BIL who was our best man so he can be close to us since he had his own table with close friends, and this way the other guys were close to us to but on the evens side.

we had a few tables in a row on one side of me and a few tables in a row to fh's side so with this we kept it by odds and evens and with those closest to us. The tables further away from us that were across not to the side we mixed a bit and didnt necessarily do odds my side and evens his side

yeah thats how it is usually but to fill a table yeah you can mix it up a bit. His side was bigger than mine so like i said above, some of the tables i mixed up...his brother sat on my side, it worked out best to have him sit closest to us. Then a few other tables after i did our close family and friends i mixed it up, and didnt pay attention to whether tables were odds or evens
