Hi Colleen, I also live in Queens and I am getting married at the North Ritz Club. It is on Jericho Tpke. in Nassau County so it is not too far and it is very easy to get to. You can also check out Westbury Manor and Swan Club. If you are open minded with your date you can get a good deal by playing with different days (Friday or Sunday as opposed to Saturday), different times (afternoon as opposed to evening) and different seasons (March as opposed to September). All these variables greatly impact the price. Good luck!

Re: Reception site
I checked out chateua la mer and they are remodling so you won't know what the room is going to look like till after you book so that bother me, as for sail harbor they were a little shady there IMO. Larkfield manor was nice, but the smaller room was a little to small and we didn't have enough for the bigger room so we couldn't do it there. Hope this helps. I am getting married at crest hollow and it is beautiful and reasonable and on jericho tpke so it is located in a nice place.

Re: Reception site
Hi Colleen, Congratulations on your engagement! I'm also having my reception at Leonard's. I'm not sure what you think of as affordable, but I know that they have competitive pricing. And seasonal pricing, too! I live in Queens and also didn't want my reception site to be 'too far'. The location is very convinient to major highways, and mass transportation (i.e. LIRR). It's definitely worth checking out! Good luck!

Re: Reception site
A lonnnnnnng time ago (like over a decade and a half) my cousin got married at the Marina Del Ray. They lived in Queens and remembered the LI'ers were impressed. I am not sure how that still is. The view was great for pictures.

I live in queens also and I am getting married at Bridgeview. It wouldnt be that far from Whitestone...cross island to the southern state.
Also, The Swan Club is nice and not too far and very nice.
We looked at Marina Del Ray and Waters Edge but they were both pretty expensive ($140) a person.

Re: Reception site
I live in Whitestone also... and we got married at the Milleridge Inn. I would have loved a place on the water but most of them were too far away for my 93 year old grandmother to travel and her being there was important. Milleridge was wonderful, in our price range, and it was about a 20 minute drive from Whitestone.

Re: Reception site
How about the Water's Edge in Long Island City- it has an amazing view! Right on the river- you can't get closer to the city!

Hi Colleen, congrats and welcome to the boards. I think you should check out John Anthony's in Babylon. The prices are affordable and the view, food and service are unbelieveable.

Re: Reception site
i am getting married in queens and we are haivng the reception at jericho terrace - my fh fell in love with the skylight (dome) room - they are also re-doing part of it now so they have more of a roon in front too! you might also want to try floral terrace, which is closer to queens......we looked at the stewart manor country club too which is in garden city and they are affordable (you have to park your own car though!)... best of luckk and don't stress. it will all fall into place as long as you both have input and see it as a fun way of spending time together!
