I have dwindled my sites doen to three and would really like and negative or positive feedback. The three are the watermill, elegante grand, and the huntington townhouse. Thanks

Reception sites down to 3 - Watermill

We had our Sept. wedding reception there. Everything was wonderful. I am still getting compliments. Read my review in the review section. I will be happy to answer any questions you have.

Reception sites down to 3

Ever since the Scotto Brothers took over the Watermill, I have nothing but great stories about it. The Huntington Townhouse is nice, but it is a 'factory' (Many brides at one time) I know someone who works there and she has told me stories of brides running into each other in the halls, etc.. The last time I went to a function there, the food was terrible.

My vote is the Watermill. I agree that the Townhouse is a factory. I have heard stories of people being rushed out of rooms because the next affair was waiting in the hall already, food is so-so, and all of the food is pre-pared in bulk way ahead of time. The Watermill is lovely, easy to get to and find, and I have not heard one bad thing about it. I don't know anything about the other choice you had.

Huntington Townhouse

My parents went to a wedding there, and weren`t all that thrilled with it. This place advertises their 'starting at $29.95' package pretty heavily .. a great come-on that inticed me into calling and asking when we were trying to plan before we were really financially ready. I didn`t like what I heard from them, and it turned out we wanted to wait til we had more money, rather than stressing so much over how we would pay everything. And now, we`re so glad we did, as John Anthony`s was great. Don`t know anything about the other places, but it seems like Watermill is the hands-down winner so far from those who've responded. From their website, the place looks beautiful. Another thing you might want to consider .. it looks like Watermill has beautiful grounds surrounding it. Huntington Townhouse really doesn`t have anything. I`ve driven past it, and always chuckle over how in their ad they perfectly staged the photo of their outdoor ceremony area .. you`d never really know it was pretty much joined to a corner of the building. I really can't say I've seen any other 'green' areas, just lots of parking and a flashy building front .. set right on Jericho Tpk.

reception sites

a good friend of mine worked for the townhouse in college and she doesn't have too many nice things to say about it. my mother just went to a christmas party at the watermill and she said it was fabulous. SHe said the main course was good, but the cocktail hour and venician(sp?) was OUTSTANDING. she said they even sprinkled real snow in the lobby when you walked in.

Watermill

My fiance used to hold dinner seminars at the Watermill, he said his guests were always pleased with the food. The food served was not from a wedding menu, so I would imagine the wedding food would be even better. I have never been there, but he said it is nice inside. Continued success to all...

My opinion

I don't know about the other two, but if you can avoid it at all, don't go with Huntington Townhouse. They have a horrible reputation nowadays for changing things you've contracted for at the last minute, and they are not the quality they once were. A long time ago, they were well respected, and were quite good, even if they had a lot of weddings at one time. Now, they are a cheap imitation of good reception sites, and it is obvious the moment you enter the gates. The carpets are torn, the flowers are fake, the art is schlock, the interior is too gawdy, and the food is not that good. It is well passed its prime. Forgive me, but that's my personal opinion, and I apologize to anyone who I might have offended by this...
