I am new to the Board and I love all the ideas and suggestions that everyone has.
I am getting married at Westbury Manor on a Sunday in November 2009 and the reception starts at 6:30 and ends at 11:30. Has anyone else had these times for their reception and if so how did it work out? Or has anyone attended a wedding with this time? It's late for a Sunday and I'm a little concerned that a lot of my guests won't attend due to the time. Any comments/opinions would be greatly appreciated.

don't worry bout it, i've been to pently of weddings on a sunday night. my wedding is actually on a sunday night as well. who ever wants to be there will be and who ever doesnt well then they're missing one h e l l of a party. the people you really want there will come like family and close friends. don't stress it.

I wouldn't worry either I am getting married on a Sunday evening there as well. People have plenty of time in advance to decide if they should take off of work or not.

Ending at 11:30 is fine, only lucky people really go to bed around that time anyway. But if you are that concerned than start it at 5:30 and end at 10:30.

I wish I could have it 5:00 to 10:00 but they don't offer it that way on a Sunday.

i think your times are fine. if no one wants to stay till the very end then they can leave at 9:30 or 10 but at least they would have been there for most of it.

I've been to plenty of sunday evening weddings...I ALWAYS stay till the end...doesn't matter if I have work the next day! Most of the time, I'll just go in late, or not go in at all!! You are giving people enough advance notice.

Yeah mine is on a sunday too. I think I'm ending at 10:30 or 11:00 but your times are fine. . people will totally come.. some might leave early but trust me the people you want to stay will!!!!

in 2007, just about every wedding we attended was on a sunday. All of them were evening weddings and all of them ended around 11:30pm-midnight. People stayed and dh and i stayed until the end at just about all of them.

i attended a sunday evening wedding recently... i stayed until the very end and took off work the next day, but several guests left very early because of work the following morning... i remember there were only like 10 of us dancing the last hour

I think you should be fine. As long as people are having fun then you don't have to worry about them not staying all night. They probably won't even notice the time.
