I am booked for 6:00. Church right now is booked for 2:30. I wanted to have the church at 2 and the reception at 6:30. Called the hall and they cannot do 6:30 only 8:30.
Big deal or not?

Re: Reception Time Big deal or not
i think you'll be fine with the church at 2:30--are you having just a ceremony or a full mass? if it just a ceremony you should have plenty of time.

that is close, is it at the same location, then I guess I have plenty of time.

The church and reception are about 30 minutes from each other. Start time of Church is 3:00pm. There is no mass, so I figure it should end by 3:30ish. Then, quick receiving line, the guests should be done by 4pm. That gives that 2 and a half hours to get to my reception hall, which is 30 minutes away. In fact, I worry about what they'll do in the meantime. But, as far as I go, assuming I leave the church around 4pm, I'll arrive at the hall at 4:30pm. This means I'll have two hours before cocktail hour to take photos. I think this is MORE than enough.

Re: Reception Time Big deal or not
oh that is good. My problem was I was planning on going to a park for photos and wanted to get to the cocktail early., I dont want to feel rushed. But I know it will be fine. I guess it is just the begining and I have nothing to stress over so that was it.
I can't understand why your RH is saying no t0 6:30...it seems a little silly to me that they would rather push it back 2 hours then 1/2 an hour....Is there another wedding happening @ the same time?
Anyway I think 6 is fine and you shouldn't be upset over it...you'll have plenty of time!

Re: Reception Time Big deal or not
my mass is at 330 and ch starts at 6. and im not worried. i figure i'll be out of the church no later than 5, and the RH is a half hour away. i didnt want a 'big' gap because i didnt want to strand anyone.
