Re: Reception trouble
There are definitely places that will be able to accomodate you. My RH, Westbury Manor, has a room called the Manor Room with a minimum of 90 people and a max of 140 people on a Saturday night. I also recently went to the Inn at New Hyde Park for an engagement party and I was in a beautiful smaller room. I think the upstairs room at Chateau La Mer can accomodate that number as well. The Swan Club definitely has a smaller room and I think Jericho Terrace has smaller rooms too. Oh, and I had my sister's bridal shower at the Carriage House at the Milleridge Inn and it was gorgeous! Definitely definitely places if you go looking! Good luck and welcome to the site!

My RH!! Trumpets at the Gate

It is beautiful...GREAT food.....amazing views...very Hamptons and elegant... and they will work with you! The max at Trumpets is 119 so they know how to accomodate for small parties.

Douglaston Manor has a lot of different rooms, I think they have one that they can have a small wedding in.

Louis XVI in Patchogue
I hardly hear anyone speak about this place, but I was in LOVE with how it looked so I went there to see it myself..its breathtaking. As I did more research I had more than a handful of people tell me that they had a great experience there. I'm pretty sure I might book with them!

Re: Reception trouble
The Thatched Cottage is the most inexpensive place around. We had our wedding booked there but unfortunately my Brother is getting deployed to Iraq so we had to change venues and postpone the wedding. So here's the kicker- A great date is now up for grabs! July 4th 2008- it's an opening for a day wedding and it's comes with a discounted price!
P.S. The Thatched Cottage has a gorgeous Gazebo for holding your ceremony which is nestled right on the beautiful Northport Harbor. Imagine the warm July sun and swans swimming by in the harbor! As an added bonus- Northport is the cutest most picturesque town to drive through so your guests will enjoy the sights on their way to your wedding. Breathtaking gardens during the summer and the main ballroom has a full wall of windows so you can enjoy the view even from the inside. Haggle with them for $65 pp if you are interested in July 4th- it's a Friday!

Re: Reception trouble
We're having a champagne brunch on a Saturday for 85 people. We'll most likely go with Babylon Carriage House -- it's close to the church and only $30 pp.
