This is my 1st post since getting engaged on Christmas and I need a little direction. I've never been the type of girl to dream about her wedding, but my family & FH's family doesn't like the idea of going to city hall and then the diner. So we decided to look at a few venues. We saw de Seversky, Bridgeview Yacht Club, The Chateau Briand, and Russo's. De Seversky was our favorite, but it's just not large enough (since we, with the help of our families, have created a 250 person guest list). Russo's wasn't our style, but we know the food & service will be spot on, which is the most important thing for us. Are there any other venues like de Seversky, but larger? I'm thinking the Royalton Mansion & some of the Lessing's venues. Any other suggestions? Planning a wedding from DC while FH is on LI has been more difficult than I thought. This website & all of your tips, opinions, and advice have been amazing!

Hi Ladies,

I think the best way to go about finding a RH is to decide how many guests you are inviting and how much you are willing to pay per plate. Then decide what is most important to you about the RH (to us, it was getting married on the beach and having top quality food) If you are inviting 250 people, then you will probably have between 200-210 guests. Do you know what you are willing to pay per plate?

Re: Reception Venue Suggestions
What about looking into Giorgio's? It's absolutely beautiful and I THINK may be able to accommodate that many people.

Re: Reception Venue Suggestions
Giorgios can def hold that many people but it may be too far out for you. I happen to think that the East End is a hidden gem!

Re: Reception Venue Suggestions
Thanks for the advice! I'll have to check out the website and Giorgio's. I've never heard of either. I think we'd like to spend around $100 per person & the guest list is definitely flexible. I'd like to cut it down to around 200, but we'll see what happens.

Re: Reception Venue Suggestions
Congrats. Depending on the time of year too that plays a big role in the cost. I choose the North Ritz because it is a one venue place and their food is great. I would recommend looking at their website the food list and pictures are pretty exact.

I'll have to check out the Woodlands & North Ritz. I prefer one wedding at a time and we're flexible with the time of the year. Thank you!

Re: Reception Venue Suggestions
Woodlands is absolutely stunning...an old historic mansion that definitely gives you a cozy feeling. They host one wedding at a time and are very reasonable. I am having about 240 invites so I am figuring about 200 total.

Re: Reception Venue Suggestions
Going to look at the North Ritz Club and the Royalton next Saturday. Haven't heard back from Westbury Manor yet. FHs cousin just got married at the Woodlands so I wanted to go somewhere the family hasn't been recently, but it's beautiful. Thanks for the tips!
