Recession striking...

In order for my FH’s job to keep from laying off one of the 6 service people (hes a mechanic), they have agreed to all work 4 days a week and cut their dental plan…

I know its 10x better than him possibly losing his job, but it just stinks! I have no idea how we’re ever going to be able to afford an apartment!

I'm so sorry! You would be suprised what you can find, keep your head up!! We went on craigslist and found a realtor and she found us a beautiful apartment and the rent is SO low for what we have!! FM if you need anything!

That really stinks. Every day I say a prayer that this country gets back on its feet. It's so sad.

Oh my God, that stinks. I mean, look at it this way, he still has a job- which is a major plus. Do you have a good dental plan? If so, maybe he can go on yours when you guys get married.

I'm sorry to hear that. But remember to be thankful that FH even has a job. Many, many people are losing their jobs and can't find another one so easily. Any income is better than no income.

maybe he can find some side work..a mechanic can always find work! honestly...in times like these...blue collars are lucky.... maybe he can find a gas station who needs an extra hand on saturdays..something like that!

i'm so sorry to hear that.It's horrible right now with people getting laid off left and right. The post above me makes a good point tho-maybe he can find some side work-even if it's just once a week! And def look on craigslist for apartments. You may find something in your price range that's still nice. Good luck!
