Recieving line?

If you are getting married at a Church, are you having one? I hate them but think I might have to do one anyway

I have no idea if we're doing one. I haven't even thought about it and to be honest i don't even really know what this is!

We are doing one, FH and I are very big on thanking everyone. I think its important.

Absolutely NOT! I don't care about tradition I care more about my pictures. I will thank everyone at the reception. There is not 1 person who is not coming to the reception hall who isn't at the church. My pictures will last forever and I will be upset if I don't take enough

I feel the same way!!! I have just been too chicken to mention that to my mom & FMIL - kinda have a feeling they won't agree!

aww, i'm doing one!! i'm actually excited for it. i mean, i'd love to be alone with DH right after but it's also nice to be congratulated by loved ones.

I'm doing it because I feel that people took the time to come to my ceremony (I know there will be people there who are not invited to the wedding but wanted to come see us get married) so the least I can do is give them a hug.

My sister was dead set against not doing one and she didn't. Her wedding was in church and they were the first out (obviously ...the first down the aisle) and they ran away with the photographer. I have to say, it was INCREDIBLY awkward. People started to come out of church and just stopped dead at the doors looking at us, like where is the bride and groom? No one knew what to do....including us.

I'm not saying you have to do it, its your wedding and you should be able to do whatever the heck you want. All I am saying is that from personal experience, it creates an awkward situation so I guess have some sort of a plan....
